How do I try out YearPlanner?

Our software distributed and sold on a try-before-you-buy basis. It's as easy as 1-2-3:
  1. Download the software and put it on your own computer. You don't pay anything yet!
  2. Install and try the software out for a period of time, and see how you like it.
  3. After the trial period, decide whether you want to keep the software. If you decide to keep it, you must purchase it. However, if you decide not to keep it, just delete it from your system and pay nothing.

How do I install YearPlanner?

YearPlanner is installed using a standard Windows® installation system;. By using the approved installation procedure YearPlanner appears in the "Change or Remove Programs" dialog from where it can be safely uninstalled (this is part of the Control Panel). When YearPlanner is downloaded from the internet:
  • Open the folder where you saved the distribution package.
  • Run the distribution packing by double clicking on the file.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.
IMPORTANT: You might need Administrator privileges to install programs on your computer.

How do I pay?

Full instructions for payment are included with the software. Or if you prefer you can purchase any C Software product right here on the Web using our eStore - but only after you've downloaded and tried it out!

With commercial software, you don't know what you're buying until after you've paid for it. You can look at the box, read the reviews - but until you've tried it yourself, you don't know what you're getting. With our approach, you actually use the software before you pay anything, so there's no risk!

Where is your eStore?

Once you have downloaded and installed your software you can use it for the duration of the trial period (usually 30 days). After the trial period certain features of the software will be disabled although you will still be able to view pages that you have created. To get full unrestricted access to all the features you must purchase a registration key. This can be done in one of two ways:

  1. Directly (and securely) from YearPlanner by clicking the "Buy Now" button on the About dialog box
  2. From our eStore which will send you a registration key via email. This must then be loaded into YearPlanner from the "Activate" command found on the Help menu.

Is you purchase system secure?

C Software has selected a highly respected third party sales system called eSellerate to handle its purchasing system. All transactions through the eSellerate system are protected with an extremely high level of encryption provided through its partnership with Thawte.com. All purchase pages are secure and contain the symbol on the right, which can be clicked on to verify the security of the page. This means that any information provided to eSellerate on a page where a lock symbol is shown in the status bar of their web browser, is protected.

Customers who buy through the eSellerate system are shopping on a secure server, which encrypts all of the customer's personal information including name, address and credit card number. Encryption ensures that no one can access or use personal information in an unauthorized manner. eSellerate, Inc. is a licensee of the TRUSTe Privacy Program. TRUSTe is an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to build users' trust and confidence in the Internet by promoting the use of fair information practices.

What is Manual Activation and how do I use it?

Manual Activation is required when you purchase a registration key and want to install YearPlanner onto a computer that does noy have connection to the internet, or that is on a network that makes internet access difficult (e.g. behind a firewall).

In this case Activation involves using your Registration Key plus a number generated by YearPlanner called an Installation ID to obtain an Activation Key. Automatic Activation avoids the need for you to bother with this process.

Manual Activation is not as convenient as Automatic Activation but can be easily achieved if you follow these instructions:
  1. On YearPlanner Select Help=>Activate
  2. Enter your original Serial Number (sent to you in your order confirmation email) in the edit-box, check the "Manual Mode" box, and click [Activate].
  3. Select the internet option that fits your situation:
  4. In some cases you should use the second option even if you are activating YearPlanner on the same computer as the one with your internet connection. This is usually on a computer in a large corporate network that has sophisticated firewalls.
  5. Click [Next]. You now get an Installation ID. (not your registration key)

  6. Go to http://activate.esellerate.net with your browser and copy the Installation ID from step 4 into the box and click [submit]
  7. Back on YearPlanner Click [Next]
  8. You should now have a set of 10 boxes labeled A - J on YearPlanner and the activation keys on the web page (2 lines with five codes in each). Copy these (use copy-and-paste) into the boxes and click [Activate].

How do I upgrade to the latest version of YearPlanner?

Usually you will be entitled to one or two major upgrades to YearPlanner without any extra charge but you should check your exact entitlement on the What's New page on this web site. Note that no such entitlement is guaranteed.

To upgrade your YearPlanner software:
  1. Download the latest installation file and put it on your computer.
  2. Run the installation file (year_planner_install.exe)
  3. When you install a new version of YearPlanner on a computer that already has it installed it will ask you if you want to uninstall the exiting copy. You should answer YES. Then you must run the installation program again. None of your data files or registration will be lost.

Can I install YearPlanner on more than one computer?

Yes! C Software recognises that many individuals use more than one computer, for example at home and at work. In addition, people buy new computers and need to transfer software from computer to computer. Our licensing system is aimed at preventing genuine software piracy not irritating our customers.

For these reasons we welcome and encourage you to re-use your serial number so, for your personal use, you can make best use of our software. The number of re-activations is limited (5) but if you genuinely need more then please contact us at the following email address:
